BACKGROUND

Founded in 2017, It started off as an assignment in a management of recreation and leisure studies as a senior year college course. The assignment was to create an ideal job or career within the field of Recreation and Leisure and develop your title or role. Given that I was an Exercise Scientist – specifically in the arena of sports – and at the time was an athlete and assisted in coaching track, I had a passion for the strength and conditioning aspect of a persons development for their endeavor. It was only fitting to me to want to be a strength coach, with the intentions of one day owning my own facility.

WHAT IS COWBELL STRENGTH ?

I developed the ‘brandname’ with the use of certain cultural and sporting elements that finalized the idea. Cowbells – You think of cows and bulls, their size and regardless of gender, the strength and in cases, aggression they possess. The craftsmanship behind making an actual cowbell; I entertained the idea that I was a human craftsman with every intent of building and aiding one in achieving their true genetic potential. The sound of a bell ringing, signifying the start of a boxing match, the bell lap and the cowbells (in Caribbean meets at least) at the track and even downhill skiing. Finally, the cultural, the cowbells that are an essential component to the Junkanoo music ensemble; It comes across like a rhythmic roar of thunder, thats distinct and crisp and caries the tune. The parallel in my opinion signifies the craftman’s work in action – the blend of dedication, consistency, time and focus results in a well functioning and healthy individual. Ring That Bell – the mantra, to step up to the plate and execute.

WHAT I DO!

Fast forwarding to the current state, I live and operate out of Freeport, Grand Bahama, and have had the opportunity to work with a multitude of individuals, from professional to amateur, middle school to collegiate, young and old, and in some cases those with certain biomechanics, anomalies and have been instrumental in assisting these people with a better quality of life and opportunity. I focus primarily on the development of a person whether athlete or not, and instruct of to move optimally. This in turn assists the individual in their everyday lives and translates to improved functionality and safety. Simply put, I get people strong and fit and teach them how to truly move and use their bodies.

Aside from the formal training received and the experiences that I have had, the opportunity to partake in, has afforded me the blessings to work with; certain professional athletes and seasonal returners; clients who have had improvements in their day to day life based on the expertise given; aided certain athletes in going either to the national or international athletic stage, and obtaining collegiate athletic scholarships; Implementation of pre and rehabilitation techniques and modalities that have healed and promoted and increase in overall wellness of individuals. The charisma, the wisdom and the background skills that I possess makes me a well rounded and amicable individual that meshes  professionalism with a basis of love, sincerity and family like culture. CREDENTIALS

I obtained an NSCA CSCS ( National Strength and Conditioning Association, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) and now pursuing another certification that would even further enhance my current level of education.

HOW DO WE START!

To start my program, there is an initial meeting – weather in person, online, or phone, for me to be able to assess the individual and ask pertinent questions on their medical history, and at the very least, verify that they have been cleared by a medical professional to engage in physical activity. After the initial consult, a free session is given for potential clients to get a peak of what to expect and allows me to better view the person in more structured movement. From there, packages will be discussed – whether, athletic, group or personal. – and future appointments are set.
